“Until I attended the 2005 MYAN Peer Leadership Conference, I felt like a very small piece of the puzzle that we call life… [attending the conference] is one of the best things I could have done. It developed me into a confident, self-assured youth activist...”
~youth conference attendee
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE The Annual Peer Leadership Conference brings together almost 500 youth & adults from across the state for an inspiring two days of workshops, activities, training and team building. Conference participants learn new skills, network with other groups, and learn about local and statewide initiatives and resources that can support their peer programs’ efforts through the year. Of course there is lots of fun with evening activities including a dance, pool time and more. Participants leave feeling inspired and informed, ready to take action back home!
Youth Planning Teams (YPT)
Each year, a youth planning team helps to make decisions about all aspects of the Conference, from workshop topics to decorations. The Youth Planning Team (YPT) meets throughout the summer and fall to discuss and decide on all aspects of the event, from workshops to food, and to ensure that participants leave feeling inspired & empowered.
