Youth Planning Team

If you were at the 22nd Annual Peer Leadership Conference you know how great it was. Who is responsible for such an amazing event you ask? It takes A LOT of people and hard work to put on the annual MYAN Peer Leadership Conference and this year the event was guided by an active and enthusiastic 16 member Youth Planning Team. The team was supported by their dedicated advisors and valuable subcommittee members' help. There were young men and women from different groups in Maine that gathered for planning meetings from July to October, deciding everything from the menu to workshop choices to evening entertainment.

My experience with YPT has been a great one. I have
learned a lot, and I feel like I've changed someone
else's life for the better. As well as learning many
valuable lessons, I also had a lot of fun putting on
the conference, which turned out great.

I had a lot of fun with the planning, and it was even better to see the
fruits of our efforts come about. I had fun and learned a lot during the
workshops that I went too, and I hope that the others that attended those
workshops got the same out of them as I did. I wish I could come back
another year.

Helping put together such a big conference made me
more aware of money management and actually going to
the conference and seeing it all be put together was
amazing as well as all the new people I met there.
Thank you MYAN and the YPT for doing this!

My experience on the YPT was a lot of fun. I gained a lot
of valuable experience by being able to see what it takes to
plan a conference, and I also gained a lot of resources to help
me in my future leadership endeavors. I enjoyed the experience
and I would like to thank all the MYAN staff and the other
YPT members for such a great experience.
